Our Project
Description
Our project created four Canvas modules with all the materials you need both to teach informal fallacies of reasoning and elementary deductive logic in a college-level Critical Thinking course.
Our modules include textbook chapters, videos, worksheets, and quizzes and other exercises. With our worksheets, students explore the extent to which AI can help them master their critical thinking skills. Our modules also include guided AI Ethical Reflection Worksheets in which students use a "four-questions" framework to analyze the ethics of their AI use as students, professionals, and in their personal lives.
Throughout, we use a "no-AI-first" pedagogy. Students achieve competence with the material first and then explore whether and how AI can help them master the material.
All materials created by our project are "open source" and published under a Creative Commons license.
Our Team
Our team consists of three faculty members in the Philosophy Department, California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, CA.
